Our Step Drill-2 is a perfect programming example for anyone interested in tools with sub land and DXF form.

The form was intentionally not corrected with a CEC (cutting edge correction) in order to maintain the full sharpness of the helix angle.
To ensure that the shape remained dimensionally accurate, it was adapted with a flute form adaptation.
A 55° step angle with an inside chamfer and an outside radius was selected as the example shape.

One of the major advantages of the sub land design is that very short step lengths can be produced which can then be reground almost indefinitely.
